…this is Indie Dunes version of Breaking News. Stop what you
are doing. Listen to this.
Bandcamp has this handy little setup which, if you are a
registered member (aka have bought music), notifies you the moment a new album
is available from your fave bands and/or artists.
Buy it or not – you can listen, link, embed – spread the
word type situation.
A couple of days ago I was notified that SPC-ECO (pronounced
“Space Echo”, you’re welcome…) have a new album out.
SPC-ECO, if you have not heard of them before, is an
alternative dream-pop electronic indie nu-gaze (these are their tags, I agree
with most, I would add psychedelic – just listen to “Don’t Need Fear” and you
will agree with me – all 8 minutes 48 seconds of it) duo from the UK – Dean
Garcia (former member of Curve) and his daughter – Rose Berlin.
Their latest album “Sirens and Satellites” features 16
tracks - I am replaying Delusional Waste and Zombie to death at the moment, I
have yet to listen to the album in full. Strong candidate for album of the year - half way through.
To quote another SPC-ECO fan: perfect tracks for chilling
out, reading, drifting out of real life or sex. Agreed. Pick any album and the
sentiment remains the same. Listen and get into the SPC-ECO induced trance.
And to
remind/introduce you of/to Curve, take a listen to "C U Roses R S Y S mix" from the album “Rare
and Unreleased”
If you are wondering what the other half of Curve is doing now, Toni Halliday's new project is called "Chateline" - more info on official webpage here.
